Honda 1983 – Out In Front and Pulling Away

When I was in high school, one of my favorite things in the world hanging out at my local bike shop. Every weekend, my friends and I would make a trip to all the local dealers to drool over the latest models (things that we could not afford) and see if there were any cool stickers (things that we could afford) or lightly-used tires in the back shop we could bum off one of the mechanics.

This was our weekly ritual and over time we all got to really know our local dealers and the guys that worked there. One of the benefits of this relationship was my collection of classic videos. Many of the old races and promo videos I have on VHS came from the owner of my local Honda dealer, Dutrow’s Honda in Frederick, MD.

Every once in a while, they would clean out the boxes of old tapes they had in back and I would be there to snatch them up like the greedy moto junkie I was. Of all the tapes they passed on, one of my favorites has to be this cool promo video for the 1983 Honda motorcycle lineup. This was the kind of video that was produced for the dealer new-model introduction every year. It was designed to get the dealers pumped on the new models coming out never intended for public display. Personally, I love this kind of stuff and consider tapes like this absolute gold. I have one like this for 1982 and 1983, and man I wish I could score a few more.

Here is Honda’s promo video for 1983 – Honda, Out In Front And Pulling Away in its entirety as copied from my original VHS copy. This video covers off-road, street and motocross, so feel free to scrub forward it V45 Mangnas and Interceptors are not your thing. Enjoy.
